Is there case law in Argentina?

Argentine law is similar to the French legal system, and different from the US/UK system: In Argentina, there is no system of "case law", meaning that the previous cases are in fact not binding for judges to decide on a particular case. Nevertheless, judges do frequently take into account previous cases to interpret the law, but the cases have similar weight to other interpretative sources, such as the academic opinions and interpretation.
